Project Budburst

I have just joined Project Budbust, A National Phenology Field Campaign for Citizen Scientists after reading about it over at Lake Loop. I've been keeping phenological data for over 40 years, so was thrilled to see this. I have only signed up for the dandelion and the lilac so far, but intend to sign up for more locations and more flowers, hopefully. Phenology is the study of when natural events occur such as flowering and fruiting times, egg laying, births, hibernation etc. Project Budbust concentrates on easily identifiable plants.

I came across your blog because I was searching for phenology blogs. The project Budburst looks interesting. I'll check it out.

Haven't done much more with it yet, things seem out of hand, but it looks like a great project.

I checked out Budburst. I like the idea. They could do a little more with displaying the data collected. I find myself itching to import their data into a mysql database and do something with it.
I have the itch, but not the time.

I have 35-340 years of phenological date from upstate NY, but right now, it is all packed in boxes from my recent move. I don't have time either, things are too hectic, unfortunately.

There is another site called Journey North--have you checked that one out? It's mostly birds.

I kept EVERYTHING I could, plants, birds, first woodchuck sighting, stages of baby ducks and geese, etc.
